Oak endures, this is reflected in historic and much loved buildings throughout the whole of Europe. As oak is slow growing and has a tight grain it is much stronger and durable than other woods. As it dries, the stronger it gets.
Traditional methods of using joints and pegs are used because oak shrinks as it dries thus tightening the joints making them stronger. The oak that we use is from managed woods so that trees are replanted making it a resource as well as providing a habitat for flora and fauna.
